Nevermind Bowling Shoes: Comfort, Style & History

Why Do You Need Special Bowling Shoes?
When it comes to bowling, having the right ball isn’t enough – the shoes are just as important.
You can’t wear your everyday sneakers on the lanes: they might slip too much or damage the surface. Bowling shoes are specially designed to provide grip, comfort, and precision, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player.
👉 At Nevermind, we offer a collection of bowling shoes for men and women that combines retro design, high-quality materials, and technical performance.

A Brief History of Bowling
Did you know that bowling is one of the world’s oldest games?
-
As early as 3200 BC in Egypt, round stones and carved pins were discovered – the earliest known bowling equipment.
-
In the 4th century, a form of bowling appeared in Germany.
-
In 1366, England’s King Edward III banned his soldiers from playing skittles so they would focus on archery practice!

The word bowling (from the English to bowl, meaning to roll or to throw) was first recorded in 1611 in Jamestown, Virginia. It quickly spread across the United States through German, Dutch, and English settlers.
In 1840, the first indoor bowling alley opened in New York: Knickerbocker Alleys. A few years later, nine-pin bowling was banned because of gambling concerns. The solution? Add a tenth pin and arrange them in a triangle instead of a diamond: modern bowling was born.

To standardize the rules, the American Bowling Congress (ABC) was founded in 1895. Today, the USBC still governs the sport worldwide.
